An illustrated children’s book perfectly suited to be read as a bedtime story, Treasure Island is an early multimedia attempt by the Fox Film Coporation to piggyback on their production costs in making a motion picture of the same name about two small children battling pirates in search of a buried treasure.
The illustrations—18 in all—comprise stills from the motion picture, plus some color drawings, plus some black and white drawings.
While this work does borrow a few characters from the famous novel by Robert Louis Stevenson and the general idea of the plot, this should not be considered a condensed version of the novel.
