The Beadle’s Frontier Series reproduced here by Travelyn Publishing was a crossover series originally published as a series of dime novels in the 1870s and then re-published as nickel weeklies in 1908 and 1909—from the copies of which these digital versions are created. With halfway decent writing incorporating halfway reliable history, the Frontier Series is enjoyable, edifying reading in novella-sized works of fiction. The series was apparently popular enough that someone decided those old dime novels from the 1870s warranted re-publishing forty years later. And then, believe it or not, they were re-published again in 1912!
