Researched and written by their son, Jim, this is the history of Barb & Harry Gravelyn’s family, which has its base in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.

While not a complete study (is genealogy ever complete or finished?), the author did some rigorous genealogical research to compile the information.  The book’s ancestry charts are interspersed with commentary and explanations written in an entertaining and often humorous manner.  From the bottom of the family tree, Barb & Harry’s great-great-grandchildren, through various European royalty, to the very tip-top of the tree occupied by a 111th great grandfather born 1,475 years before the birth of Christ, the rotten fruit on the family tree is never avoided.  In fact, it’s generally showcased.  It’s a fun book to read even if you’re not part of the family.
